And the weirdest thing is the bumper seems untouched.
I had a similar situation once, but it was a poor dog that was walking along the street when I was passing (with a foot on the brake already) then tried to cross the street when I was like 5 meters of him. The bumper remained perfect, while the fog light was shattered.

Poor little fella. But bumpers are flexible, hard plastic lenses aren't. But, I think it was a direct hit from a rock or a pelican. Probably pelican.

You and Homer both.

Nah, if it was a pelican the damage would've been waaay worse.
I'd hit the little fella right with the middle of my car if I didn't turn and brake hard. The ABS did a nice job and saved him. I hit his rear legs, and thankfully he bumped and was thrown to the side rather than under the car or towards the middle. I rushed to him to try and help him, but he stood up and ran to the other side of the street where he was headed (there were like 10 other stray dogs waiting him). He limped a bit. Poor guy.

How much worse, this much worse.
But, it was most defiantly a rock.

Bummer, I had the same thing happen to me a few months ago. No idea what did it. No other damage to the bumper.
